Here some tips to make your side hustle work for you!

One of my goals is to create a profitable business online and make money.

We know that millennials love a good side hustle—to fuel both their passions and make that little cash potentially turn into a six-seven figure income. According CareerBuilder survey , 44% of 25-34 year olds and 39% of 18-24 year olds have a side hustle to supplement their daily 9 to 5 job. Why stop there, if you are able to manage properly a side hustle should not take too much extra time.

When we start a business or passion project, we are putting ourselves in a position outside of our comfort zones. We go beyond our daily challenges and accomplish things we never thought we could do. A side hustle can lead to development in our skill sets and build/nurture relationships to build strong network, which in turn could lead to a career progression or turns into dollars $$$.

Learning How to Prioritize

Generally a side hustle will be your running your side of your business and it becomes realistic that you need to set priorities.

There will always be emails to send, posts to publish, and prospects to contact, relationship to nurture but it’s not possible to be everything to everyone. Learning what is important at that moment and strategically layout your priorities is something a side hustler knows very well.

Delegating

The importance of delegation does not stop at your side hustle and should be used at your day job as well. While it might seem important to show your boss and company that you can accomplish everything that is thrown your way, it’s also essential to show that you know your limits. As you progress in your career or in your business it critical that you distribute your workload and free up time for more important projects.

Build that network

In a 9 to 5 job, you can easily get stuck behind a laptop and seldomly do not have the opportunity to reach out to colleagues. This is all too common in the workplace, it’s harder to put yourself out there.  Whether it’s through a coffee chat or an email introduction, one of the fastest ways for people to know your professional skill set is to introduce yourself and get the conversation started.

But with today’s technology and social media, you can replicate that online. Always make sure your profile / posts attract. The key thing to building your network online is to attract the right segment rather than trying to appeal to the mass market.

Taking risks and overcoming challenges

We are always reserved or skeptical when we consider to start that side hustle which we think may be a distraction to our 9 to 5 job. Key thing is to identify your passion, learn how to set priorities, delegate tasks, and increase your networks are all valuable assets to develop in your career or build a successful side hustle.
